2022 Sri Lanka Visit

With international borders reopening, I was able to again travel to Sri Lanka and spend almost 8 weeks continuing our work there.

I can’t thank enough Percy Thalgahagoda and Nilanga from True Paradise Tours pvt Ltd who worked so hard in supporting me and our Charity to do the work of providing more than 400 families each with a 17kg food packages.

This particular trip was very emotional for me by not having Raja with me after 16 years and witnessing the devastating hardships families all around the country are going through.

The country is still having lengthy power cuts every day, food prices are through the roof, electricity prices are rising astronomically, fuel is still being rationed and causing much stress for tuk tuk driver, food delivery people, private bus companies, actually everyone who uses fuel. The price for 1 litre is around 450 rupees for 1 litre.

The price of sanitary pads is so high very few women can afford to buy them.

Life is tough and this situation will most likely last for another year.

The little bit that we did was very small but the impact was huge for almost all of the families.

Percy and Nilanga have mentioned several times to me that they wish to work with me in the future, by having both of them around me, I feel we may be taking a new direction with vigorous support.

I will forever be grateful to both of them and they will remain in my heart forever.
