The past 22 months for In My Heart Serendib Foundation has been tough but not as tough as it’s been for the children and their families we would normally support in Sri Lanka on my yearly visits. No school exercise books, no school bags and no shoes and the cost of living is skyrocketing with very little support of the government or agencies.
It’s my hope that 2022 will give me the opportunity to return and deliver to the children all of the items that we would normally give to help them with their education.
IMHS Charity Op Shop was open a little more than it was closed which enabled the Foundation to continue its operations during 2021.
Donations of school items and other smallish items for the children are still coming in which is amazing and when I have a chance I’m still sorting and packing boxes and bags in anticipation of a 2022 trip.
