Unfortunately 2020 saw us all stuck in a global pandemic. Numerous lockdowns in Melbourne, this was an extremely tough year.
Our kids in Sri Lanka know that I can’t make my trip this year, they’re very disappointed as am I. It’s the first time in 15 years that I haven’t been able to visit them and distribute the items that they’ll need for the upcoming school year. Their family situation will be made so much worse without our support this year.
We would always give a school bag, filled pencil case, school work books along with buying each child a pair of school shoes and 2 pairs of socks. The schools benefit from all of the supplies we leave with them, the children always go home with an assortment of toys, reading books and fun things.
2020 is indeed a weird year, lots of sacrifices that we’re all making for the benefit of the greater good, we hope.
I don’t need to tell you anything about the pandemic, we all know what we have to do, just stay safe however you’re spending your time.
